You have a macro
button with a macro assigned to it and wish to determine what macro is
assigned to the button. This exercise is using the term macro button, however,
a macro can be assigned to almost any graphic object. The steps are basically
the same for such objects.
To determine what macro is assigned to a button: 1. Click the button with
the Right mouse button
2. Click on Assign

3. The macro assigned to
the button is displayed in the
To GoTo the macro: 3. Click on the Edit
button
To Change the macro assigned to a button: 1. Complete steps 1 & 2 above 2. Find the new macro in the list, then click on the macro name 3. Click OK (or double click on the macro name in step 2) If you rename a macro, these
steps will be required for the button
Comments: This article applies to Excel 5, Excel 7 (95), Excel 97 and Excel 2000.. Macros can be attached to
many different types of objects, not just the regular macro button most
commonly used. The steps listed here are basically the same, how different
steps may be needed to get the object into a mode in which it can be edited.
For example, to attach or edit a macro assigned to a toolbar button, first
Click on View (in the menu), Toolbars, Customize. From here, the button
will work as described above.
